I loved this story. It pulled me in right from the very beginning, and wouldn't let go. Of course I loved the romance & the banter between Charlie & Nate, that's a given. But I also fell in love with all of the secondary characters, as well, all except Sandi, that is. My Uncle was a rodeo man, turned rancher (horse whisperer, too.) for most of his life. I spent many a summer there watching him take an animal so wild, and without ever raising his voice, or his hands, turning them into the gentlest animal anyone would ever want. He also taught the horses to follow voice commands, too, as well as many tricks, also. So I can really relate to this story. I don't know if this author actually knows a horse whisperer herself, or she did some really good research, but many of the tacits Nate used, was exactly what I witnessed first hand with my uncle.

Awesome cowboy romance!! The mix of a cowboy, troubled horses and a Jersey girl - what's not to love?!! The scenery and horses were hook enough. Add romance and an evil ex, PERFECT!!
Since I know about ranch life, and loved it. I found this book a great read. Wide open spaces, cool morning sunrises, the warm horses and there smell , you brought them alive. Will be reading more of her books.
great story and character development, read it a couple times and enjoyed it both times. I've read other books by this author and really liked them as well. I don't give away the story as part of my review. This one is a personal library keeper.
This book was one fine book about a cowboy. The beginning was interesting because the hero had no idea what was happening with his ranch. Nate was trying make a living on his ranch, but there were things happening that he did not know were going on. Charlie and the others that showed up for the clinic helped him figure everything out. I really liked the conflict between Nate and Charlie. This was great story. I am glad I found Joanne Kennedy.
This is a sweet story about Nate, a sexy, inarticulate cowboy who has a way with horses, but not women.

Charlie is a feisty city girl. She has a life plan created by her mother whose view of men was skewed when Charlie's father took off.

There are some interesting secondary characters and I enjoyed learning more about horses. If you are looking for action, this is not the book for you. If, however, you enjoy a slow burning romance with some humor and steam, give it a try.
"Okay, disclaimer I'm not one to read romance novels.
Another disclaimer But I love books about cowboys.

I was hesitant to post this review because I'm still slightly embarassed by the fact that I read a romance novel, but I totally enjoyed this book and it would be unfair not to. It was decently written, wasn't uncomfortably raunchy/subversive and there was even some character development there. That's all I expected, or wanted, from this so I was happy.

Every time I felt like Charlie was being annoying, I just forced myself to think of the awful Anastasia and her "inner goddess" and suddenly everything was okay. (Yes, I hate 50 Shades that much.)

All in all, a fun and quick read. I'd check out her other ranch romance novel for a vacation weekend or something."

Grad student Charlie Banks has been sent to work in Wyoming under Nate Showcross with his training of wild horses. Charlie has a chip on her shoulder about the whole gig, she doesn't believe in animals being forced to work and when her car breaks down it is just the straw that broke the camels back.

Nate has no idea who Charlie is or why his ex girlfriend made brochures for a business he does not have. Nate allows Charlie to stay but he doesn't plan on losing his heart to her. Charlie will end up having to decide if she wants a life with Nate or if she is simply sticking to her plan.

I had a really hard time warming to Charlie but once she softens up she is pretty intriguing. I liked the story, thought Nate was a great hero. Overall good book, would try the rest in the series.
